Nancy Ashbrook Willis graduated with
honors from Ohio Dominican University and received
her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz
College of Law. She began her legal career with the
Ohio Department of Commerce, where she served as Staff
Attorney and Interim Chief for the Consumer Protection
Division. As Assistant General Counsel to the Director
of Commerce, Nancy advised division chiefs regarding
matters affecting their statutory responsibilities
and drafted real estate legislation. Nancy litigated
landlord-tenant issues as an attorney for Ohio State
Legal Services and helped implement new legislation
for mainstreaming individuals with developmental disabilities
at Ohio Legal Rights Service. As Assistant Dean of
The Ohio State University College of Law, Nancy served
as the liaison between student organizations and the
law school administration and coordinated the law
school’s placement program. Nancy served as
in-house corporate counsel for a natural medicine
company and fulfilled a long-time interest in natural
medicine by coauthoring The Natural Therapeutics Pocket
Guide, a 600-plus page clinical reference book on
dietary supplements. Nancy has developed expertise
in legal research and writing through her work as
a Certified Research Specialist/Lead Case Law Editor
for Lexis-Nexis. While at Lexis, Nancy received various
awards, including the Vice President’s Award
for Outstanding Contribution for designing an original
workflow process and training editors for a collaborative
project involving Lexis, Matthew Bender and CourtLink.
Nancy’s interests include cooking, gardening,
and interior design. Before returning to the Columbus
area, Nancy served a two-year term as a member of
the Terrace Park, Ohio, Zoning Board of Appeals. |
